Caring for Newcomer Children Learning Centre

Online Learning Centre

Training available online… anytime…

  • Study from anywhere!
  • There are no fixed times; you study when you want, fitting it in around your work or family life.

With limited funding for Professional Development, these online courses can fill in the learning gap.

Workshops

CMAS continues to offer important and interesting in-person workshops, free to LINC, ELT, and OCC Caregivers. Current workshops offered:

  • Child Abuse: Prevention and Intervention (Full-day workshop)
  • Anaphylaxis: Responding to Life-Threatening Allergies (3-hour workshop)
  • Inclusion 101 (Full-day workshop)
  • Supporting the Settlement Needs of Newcomer Children (Full-day workshop)

If you would you like to host a workshop in your area (15-25 participants) e-mail the TOP Team Lead to schedule a workshop in your area or call Donna Thomas at 416-395-5027.

Training Opportunities Program

TOP is a Citizenship and Immigration Canada supported program that provides reimbursement to LINC and ELT caregivers for the successful completion of approved courses, workshops and conferences.

TOP has also been expanded to include reimbursement of First Aid/CPR training for OCC caregivers who work 21 hours/week or more for their organization.

Funding is available for individuals and groups.
