UN Convention on The Rights of The Child

The Convention on the Rights of the Child was the first legally binding international convention to affirm human rights for all children in 1989.

There has been great progress on child rights in the past 20 years, however much work remains to be done. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) represents a major milestone in the historic effort to achieve a world safe for all children. This treaty has inspired changes in laws to better protect children. It has altered the way international organizations in many countries see their work with children. UNICEF have since supported an agenda to better protect children in situations of armed conflict.
